黑龙江大学西语学院前身为1944年成立的延安外国语学校英文系。学院现设有英语、翻译（英语）、商务英语、法语、德语、和西班牙语共6个本科专业。学院2019届毕业生384人，其中英语专业87人，翻译（英语）专业40人，商务英语专业159人，法语专业29人，德语专业40人，西班牙语专业29人。
学院现有专职教师99人，聘有来自美国、加拿大、以色列、法国、德国、西班牙、古巴、埃塞俄比亚等8个国家的外籍教师。近十年来，学院教师承担国家社科基金项目8项，教育部人文社科项目10项，出版专著、编著、译著、教材近90部，在语言学、文学、外语教学等领域共发表论文420余篇，其中SSCI论文4篇，CSSCI和北大核心期刊论文102篇。
The College of Western Languages at Heilongjiang University was formerly known as the English Department of Yan’an Foreign Language School, which was established in 1944. The College now has six undergraduate programmes in English, Translation (English), Business English, French, German, and Spanish. There are 384 graduates in 2019, including 87 English majors, 40 Translation (English) majors, 159 Business English majors, 29 French majors, 40 German majors, and 29 Spanish majors.
There are 99 full-time teachers in Heilongjiang College of Western Languages, and foreign teachers from 8 countries, including the United States, Canada, Israel, France, Germany, Spain, Cuba and Ethiopia. In the past ten years, the teachers of the college have undertaken 8 National Social Science Foundation projects, 10 Humanities and Social Science projects of the Ministry of Education, published nearly 90 monographs, edited books, translations and textbooks, and published more than 420 papers in the fields of linguistics, literature and foreign language teaching, among which there are 4 SSCI papers, 102 papers in the core journals of CSSCI and Peking University.
